Sorry for the long reply, but man was that a process to figure out. I love the MLDX just let's me do a quick 1khz split with one click. That's Ok, just toggle the split in MLDX and it'll be fixed. If I change bands, the second VFO that I'm split to will not (and the kinda of makes sense anyway). Split works for me in the above setup with an IC-7610, except for one thing.

Split - It's flaky, but Split is a little flaky with almost every software app (usually because of the rig interface, not the app). It's only the change at the rig that gets weird. That will work, and the frequency will change on your rig. If you want to go from 40m to 20m just click the band dropdown in WSJT-X and choose your band.
That big red box is a nice visual reminder to do something. I do not find this to be a big deal at all to do. (Note that if you don't you might mess up your PSK Reports). So that red box is telling you something is wrong. That's because the "Band" drop down to the left of the frequency will not automatically update. WSJT-X WILL see the band change, but you'll notice the frequency window turns RED in WSJT-X. If you change your band on the rig, MLDX will see it and pass it down. Change your band in WSJT-X and it will send the change through JT-Bridge to MLDX and your rig will change. Now that the above is done, freq changes on your rig will be caught by MLDX, passed through JT-Bridge, and into WSJT-X. None will work, but Fake it does as well. For PTT method choose CAT, and for Split choose what works. I tested at least 3 logging hamradio software: MacloggerDX, Aether and RUMlogNG.

About 2 weeks ago I purchased a new Mac Mini and finally the moment to test OS X hamradio software has arrived. Now under CAT control you should see a box that says Network Server. I have heard about several hamradio software to OS X, especially the MacLoggerDX software, and of course I had in mind to test it in a uncertain future. If MLDX is controlling your rig the "Rig" section here should be "None".ĭrop down the Rig and choose "DX Lab Suite Commander". The Duplicates table is a user-configurable dupe checking tool that will check duplicate QSOs in your log based on date and time, band, mode and exact match. Open WSJT-X and go into Preferences.Radio. You should now see WSJT-X: 0 on the bottom left, and CAT connections: 0 on the bottom right. The bottom right of the JT-Bridge window now likely says CAT Address already in use, ignore that I think it's a bug (I've reported it). Put that in there and then tab into another field.
Type in a port, can be any, but I used 7374. Look at the bottom of that window, it's a section that says CAT, and the Listen on port is probably blank. Go into the Preferences for JT-Bridge and go to the Network tab. Now, the bottom left should say WSJT-X Connection: 0, that's good. Do that by selecting File.Open and choosing your MLDX SQL file. If it doesn't then you haven't connected it to the log yet. Make sure the top title bar says "Connected to MacLoggerDX". Make sure UDP broadcasts is checked under the Station tab in MLDX. I probably will do a Youtube Video on it as well, because it's kind of hidden.įirst off, make sure MLDX is controlling the rig, have everything else closed (no JT-Bridge or WSJT-X open). It's possible though, because I finally figured it out.
The docs hinted at it, but boy was it a convoluted thing to figure out. All the documentation seemed to state that it was possible to let MLDX control the rig, JT-Bridge be the intermediary, and WSJT-X to see the changes and PTT. The Duplicates table is a user-configurable dupe checking tool that will check duplicate QSO's in your log based on date and time, band, mode and exact match. So I stumbled across this post because I too was trying to make this work.

If you want to update these files, MacLoggerDX looks for them in the data/scp folder. Used correctly, it can help you more quickly pull a call out of the QRM. It enables the use of a database to extend the list of calls that appear in the check partial call window.
